Meet Jeff Hoskins - Chicago Account Executive
Jeff started with RBI in September 1997 as the warehouse manager. He quickly moved up to Inside Sales and Customer Service positions within his first year and was promoted to Account Executive in 1999. In his current position Jeff has made a significant impact in achieving our corporate mission of providing superior sales and service to every customer, every day. History of RBI Bearing, Inc... Ever wonder how it all started? RBI Bearing, Inc. was established in 1989 by Chen Hao (Rubien Chen) in a small warehouse in Southern California. The original business plan was to import ball bearings from China that were consistent in quality and priced to allow large Distributors to resell profitably in the United States. The plan was an immediate success and RBI soon outgrew the original warehouse. A new distribution center and corporate office was then established in the early 1990's in Monrovia, California. Manufacturers agents were appointed to market RBI bearings directly to large OEM's and robust growth continued for the next several years. Toward the end of 1993 the company's sales strategy changed dramatically. Rubien believed that in order to grow the business, the company needed to establish its own team of seasoned Western salespeople and managers. Additional distribution locations also needed to be established to support the sales team and position the company for future growth. In 1994, Mike Kenney joined RBI as National Sales Manager for the U.S. and established our Midwest sales and distribution office in Chicago. RBI Canada was established as a joint venture by Tony Bisante and Rubien Chen in 1995 to serve the growing Canadian customer base. RBI continued to grow over the next several years. Two offices were added in China to coordinate all aspects of the manufacturing process with the factories that produced bearings to RBI quality standards. RBI announced plans in 1997 to build a state of the art factory from the ground up in Chengdu, China. The goal was to build a factory that would produce the best ball bearings in China for the world market at competitive prices. The 250,000 square foot facility was completed in June, 2001 and the first bearings came off the line in September. Designed to accommodate 40 production lines, this facility (CD-RBI) has the capacity to produce 72 million bearings annually. In July, 2002 the CD-RBI facility received its accreditation as an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer, a reflection of the management vision and quality standards established by the company. In November, 2002 RBI purchased a miniature ball bearing factory in Wuxi, China and is currently rebuilding the facility with the same state of the art equipment as our Chengdu facility. From its beginnings as a small distribution warehouse in southern California, RBI Bearing has grown to become a world-class manufacturer of the best ball bearings in China. We have become a major force in the bearings industry by delivering what we promise, and providing superior sales and service to every customer, every day. Storing Bearings Did you know...that all RBI Bearings are treated with rust-inhibitors before leaving our factories? Bearings will not rust during the two (2) year period following delivery as long as the bearings are in their original packaging and humidity levels do not exceed 60%.
Achievement is largely the product of steadily raising one's levels of aspiration . . and expectation." Jack Nicklaus R.B. INTERNATIONAL Rubien Chen - Owner
