RBI Wuxi Receives ISO Certifications

R. B. International (Wuxi) recently received two new ISO certifications at our Wuxi, China facility. The first certifies a Quality Management System that is in compliance with the IQS standard ISO9001-2000 and Q9001-2000.

The second certifies the establishment of an Environmental Management System that is in compliance with the IQS standard ISO14001-1996.

Rubien Chen, President and CEO commented, "We are committed to establishing measurable quality standards in all areas of our facilities.  This is another tangible example of our commitment to be the best ball bearing manufacturer in China."

RBI Canada Opens Calgary Facility

RBI Canada recently opened its brand new 6,000 square foot sales and distribution center in Calgary, Alberta.  Heading up the facility is Bill Starr, Western Sales Manager.  Steve Kozak will be responsible for inside sales and order processing.

In a move that could trim the trade gap with the United States, China revalued its currency higher against the dollar and said it would no longer have the yuan tied to a fixed rate against the U.S. currency.

Common Greases in RBI Bearings

The standard grease used in our radial ball bearings is Chevron SRI #2. Chevron SRI #2 offers a wide application range, excellent corrosion stability, and excellent rust protection. It is one of the most popular bearing greases and is supplied by bearing manufacturers worldwide. Another popular grease RBI uses is Mobil Polyrex EM. Mobil Polyrex EM offers outstanding grease life, excellent corrosion resistance, and low noise properties. RBI primarily uses Polyrex EM grease in our electric motor quality bearings where low noise and vibration characteristics are important. Table 1 displays some key characteristics of these two greases.

Midwest drought has big impact on crop

"Knee-high by the fourth of July"is where the corn stalks should be this time of year. The drought in the Midwest has had a significant impact on this year's crop, but there will still be plenty of the summer time favorite for everyone. So, the question is:

What is the ideal way to cook corn on the cob?

A. Dip it in boiling water for a few seconds.
B. Add it to boiling water and cook for 1 minute
C. Toss it into boiling water to cook for 3 minutes
D. Start it in cold water and cook until it has boiled for 3 minutes.
